Physiotherapy

After a sports-related injury it’s often a good practice to receive treatment from a physiotherapist. We have some awesome physios on site with some great training and recovery procedures. They’ll do everything they can to have you up and running again as soon as possible with minimum down time.

Hi, my name is Adam Imer. I graduated in Physiotherapy at Sydney University with 1st Class Honours, and am currently completing my 2nd degree, a post-graduate double Masters Degree in Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy here on the Gold Coast at Griffith University. I have also undertaken research roles in physiotherapy, with some of my work being published in renowned Physiotherapy Journals.

Early in my career I was fortunate enough to work alongside several prominent high-level Physiotherapists and Sports Physicians in Sydney. This invaluable experience resulted in the high level of practice that I aim to deliver to every client of mine here on the Gold Coast.

I have directed my own physio and health practice here on the Coast since 2014, named “Ferry Rd Physio and Functional Therapies” in Southport. I am thrilled to have myself and my clinic be a part of the EMF Performance Centre in Upper Coomera. The EMF Performance Centres are unbelievably amazing facilities, with top grade equipment. This provides us as health professionals with the perfect environment to formulate optimal individualised therapies to help those who are after the services we provide.

With an extensive sporting background, I have a keen interest in the mechanical cause of injuries and my injury management strategies have an emphasis on rectifying the “drivers” of the problem rather than solely treating the symptoms. I utilise both a hands-on and functional approach to treatment, with a particular interest in functional strength and conditioning to reduce symptoms and restore function.

Away from physiotherapy, I am an international hockey player. My greatest achievement to date would have to be competing at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, an unforgettable experience. My experiences as an athlete definitely influence the way I treat and manage injuries as a health professional.

To introduce myself and my team, we would be more than happy to offer of a free 15min consult to discuss any issues or questions you may have around injury or injury prevention.
